The thesis studies dense stereoscopic techniques which are usable for accurate, robust and fast matching of high-resolution images of complex 3D scenes. The main contributions are: (1) Image sampling invariant and a ne insensitive complex correlation statistic (CCS) which is based on representing the image. In this thesis, we study zero-shot and few-shot learning to demonstrate how to learn better from limited training samples. Zero-shot learning requires learning a mapping that associates feature vectors extracted from images with semantic annotations that describe objects and/or scenes of interest. Many computer vision problems can be considered to consist of two main tasks: the extraction of image content descriptions and their subsequent matching. The appropriate choice of type and level of description is of course task dependent, yet it is generally accepted that the low-level or so called early vision layers in the Human Visual System are context independent.
